Born in Paris, Eric Traoré first heads towards scientific education. After graduating with a bachelor's degree in physics from the University of Paris, he chooses to devote himself entirely to his "grande passion" - photography - and enters the famous Louis Lumière School in Paris. He graduates with honors at the top of his class, and is soon discovered as an exceptionally talented artist, publishing his first images in Citizen K in 1996. These images are then exhibited in the Museum of Fashion  in Marseille, France.

That same year Eric begins working for prestigious fashion magazines such as Dutch and Visionnaire, and starts his exclusive collaboration with the French Vogue in Beauty and Fashion, shooting his first French Vogue editorial in 1997. Since then he regularly contributes to publications such as the Russian Vogue, German Vogue and Nippon Vogue.

Eric's work has been exhibited in various prestigious museums and art shows around the world. He participates in the « History of Costume in Fashion » exhibition at MOMA in New-York, contributing one of his acclaimed images from the « Goddess » series. His images are shown at the « Play the Light » exhibit at the French Museum of Fashion and Textile, the Berlin State Museum, Le "Mois de la Photo à Paris",  and during his personal exhibit at the world famous Colette fashion store in Paris.

In  2021, Eric's work was selected by Condé Nast for the "100 Years of the French Vogue" exhibit at the Palais Galliera Museum of Fashion in Paris.

In September 2022, Eric moved to New York, and started a new career as a Portrait  & Lifestyle Photographer.

Eric's images were published in several books, including " Les Années 90» by Anne Bony, " Fashion Images " and " Paradise " by Steidl Publications,"Beauté Du Siècle" by Assouline, " Mode du Siècle/Fashion of the Century " by François Baudot, "Play the Light " published by the French Museum of Fashion and Textile, "ELLE 75 ans de photos de Mode", "Coming into Fashion " and " 100 Years of the French Vogue " both published by Condé Nast.
